Very 1950's spice rack from Japan. Each spice is a ceramic book listed as VOL I, VOL II etc and hand painted with red tulips (actually leaning toward maroon). There are six spices, garlic, paprika, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice (but they spelled it allstice) and cloves. All spices are marked Japan on bottom and have original cork stoppers. One bottle or book has stopper rattling around inside and base chip which of course does not show when on rack. Comes with a wooden rack designed to mount on wall but could also sit on counter. Rack has triangular shaped paper label on back with G in center and Nov. Co. Japan on base. Spices have some clean age crazing.
