Description
Chamberstick style candle holder of Deruta majolica pottery from Italy.  Shaped like a genie lamp the hand painted fruit decoration in yellow, blue and red is on a black background with white dots.  The entire candle holder is trimmed in gold. Measures 2 1/4" high not including the handle and with the handle it measures almost 4" high. From spout to the back of the handle it measures 6 1/4" long and 3 1/2" wide. Bottom is marked Fima Deruta.  This stunning example of Deruta art pottery has a small pinhead glaze flake near tip of rim that can be felt with tips of fingers but does not detract in any way otherwise it is in excellent condition.
