  Description

Gorgeous piece of art pottery from the 1940's  in the form of a peacock planter by West Coast Pottery called their Vain Peacock line. West Coast Pottery located in Burbank, California produced art pottery, pottery figures, figurines, and other pottery items from 1940 until sometime in the mid 1950's. Muted shades of green and purple or mauve blend nicely on the rectangular planter and peacock whose tail swirls to the base and beyond.

This pleasing piece not only is incised on base with West Coast Pottery, Calif USA 439, but also has black and gold foil label in shape of outline of California. This foil label dates to 1945. To tip of peacocks head is 9". Width of vase is 5" and depth to include distance tail extends past planter is 7".

Striking in every way this gorgeous piece of art pottery is in extremely nice condition.
